Working Gundog Beginner/Novice Training

LOCATION:  Kinlet, Shropshire (full details and directions will be given when your booking is confirmed)

DATE:  Saturday 28th March 2026

TIME:  Two sessions available - Beginner (10am to 12.30pm) and Novice (1pm to 3.30pm) - please arrive in plenty of time

TRAINER:  Chris Guest of BCA Gundogs

TRAINING FEE:  £25 for members and £35 for non members

APPLICATIONS CLOSE:  10 days prior to the training date

TRAINER: 

Your trainer will be Chris Guest of BCA Gundogs.  Chris trains HPRs and other gundog breeds, covering all aspects of training from the basics for beginners to the experienced.  Chris also trains, competes and works her own dogs - having owned, Wirehaired Vizsla, Labrador and Spinone and has done for many years.

DETAILS OF THE TRAINING DAY: 

This day will be for a maximum of six dogs on each session. Dogs from six months upwards (must have some recall).

• The morning session will be for those who are beginners, whether you and your dog are new to gundog training, just starting your journey or you want to work on those fundamentals. We will be concentrating on the basics - heel work, sit/stay, recall and introduction to easy dummy retrieval (dogs dependent).

• The afternoon session will suit those who have those basics , along with decent recall. The training will still concentrate on honing these fundamentals and building on these to develop trust and confidence in the dog and handler, along with dummy retrieves.

In the case of over subscription priority will be given to members of the Korthals Griffon Club GB then non members with a Korthals Griffon and then to HPRs.

• Upon notification of acceptance to the training day, you will be asked to pay the fee by bank transfer (details will be given at the time).

• If oversubscribed there will be a reserved list held.

• If anyone has to cancel at short notice for a genuine reason, we will endeavour to fill your place from the reserve list.  If we can't fill your place at short notice,  then the training fee will be forfeit.

• Bitches in season will not be allowed on the ground

• Neither the Korthals Griffon Club or the hosts of this training will accept any liability for any accident, damage, illness or injury to dogs, owners, handlers and spectators or any other person or property whatsoever.
