Sheep Desensitization Training Day

LOCATION:  Bream, Gloucestershire (full details and directions will be given when your booking is confirmed)

DATE:  Saturday 16th May 2026

TIME:  Two sessions available (9.30am to 12.30pm) and 1pm to 4pm) - please arrive in plenty of time

TRAINER:  Beth of Kingsdean Sheepdogs Ltd

TRAINING FEE:  £30 for members and £40 for non members

APPLICATIONS CLOSE:  10 days prior to the training date, however spaces booked will be taken on a first come, first served basis.

TRAINING: 

Your trainer will be Beth of Kingsmead Sheepdogs Ltd. She has been around dogs all her life and lives on a small family farm. She trains and competes with her sheepdogs and has competed for Wales in agility and also sheepdog trailing.

The training method Beth uses is a simple method that is easy for both handler and dog to understand and revolves around body language and applying pressure on the ground.

DETAILS OF THE TRAINING DAY: 

The training will be for a maximum of six dogs on each session and is for anyone and their dog who would like to learn new or brush up on their techniques to train their dog in sheep desensitization. The training will consist of individual and group training on long lines with varying distances (dog dependent).

In the case of over subscription priority will be given to members of the Korthals Griffon Club GB then non members with a Korthals Griffon and then to HPRs.

• Upon notification of acceptance to the training day, you will be asked to pay the fee by bank transfer (details will be given at the time).

• If oversubscribed there will be a reserved list held.

• If anyone has to cancel at short notice for a genuine reason, we will endeavour to fill your place from the reserve list.  If we can't fill your place at short notice,  then the training fee will be forfeit.

• Bitches in season will not be allowed on the ground

• Neither the Korthals Griffon Club or the hosts of this training will accept any liability for any accident, damage, illness or injury to dogs, owners, handlers and spectators or any other person or property whatsoever.
