Cold Game Retrieve Training

LOCATION:  Kinlet, Shropshire (full details and directions will be given when your booking is confirmed)

DATE:  Sunday 9th November 2025

TIME:  Two sessions available (10am to 12.30pm and 1pm to 3.30pm) - please arrive in plenty of time

TRAINER:  Chris Guest of BCA Gundogs

TRAINING FEE:  £15 for members and £25 for non members

APPLICATIONS CLOSE:  10 days prior to the training date, however spaces booked will be taken on a first come, first served basis

TRAINER: 

Your trainer will be Chris Guest of BCA Gundogs.  Chris trains HPRs and other gundog breeds, covering all aspects of training from the basics for beginners to the experienced.  Chris also trains, competes and works her own dogs - having owned for many years and still does, Wirehaired Vizsla, Labrador and Spinone.

DETAILS OF THE TRAINING DAY: 

This day will be for a maximum of six dogs on each session and both sessions require the dogs to be at a standard where they are reliably retrieving dummies. The morning session will be for beginners/novice dogs to introduce or build on cold game retrieving over different distances. The afternoon will be for intermediate dogs, where the dogs will have more challenging retrieves on different ground and distances. Shot may also be used in the afternoon session.

In the case of over subscription priority will be given to members of the Korthals Griffon Club GB then non members with a Korthals Griffon and then to HPRs.

Upon notification of acceptance to the training day, you will be asked to pay the fee by bank transfer (details will be given at the time).

• If oversubscribed there will be a reserved list held.

• If anyone has to cancel at short notice for a genuine reason, we will endeavour to fill your place from the reserve list.  If we can't fill your place at short notice,  then the training fee will be forfeit.

• Bitches in season will not be allowed on the ground

• Neither the Korthals Griffon Club or the hosts of this training will accept any liability for any accident, damage, illness or injury to dogs, owners, handlers and spectators or any other person or property whatsoever.
